BIOFIN, is a USD 55 million programme, managed by UNDP-GEF under the Ecosystems and Biodiversity Team. Phase I (2012-2018) is implemented in partnership with the European Commission and the Governments of Germany, Switzerland, Norway and Flanders.
Phase II of BIOFIN, (2018-2022) is implemented in partnership with the Governments of Flanders, Germany and Norway and supported through a secondment of the Government of Sweden.
BIOFIN works with a wide range of partners to share experiences and tools, jointly organise and implement activities, and provide technical feedback into substantive products. Important national level partners are shown in the country sections.
Major partners include: the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the BESNet, the UN Poverty and Environment Initiative (PEI), the OECD, the UNSD and the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA), the Global Environment Facility (GEF), ValuES, WAVES, TEEB.
